I am Dustin. I was working with my teenage son Owen, a few weeks ago taking some running boards off his F250 truck. I was lying up under the truck showing him a thing or two about turning a wrench when he disappeared for a moment only to come back with a pillow in his hand.

Now I have to admit that my first thoughts to myself were pretty darn negative about my son trying to give me a pillow to work on his truck. I mean really son, a pillow.  I was thinking for a moment we may have pampered him a bit too much if he wanted to use a pillow to work on a truck.  He insisted to the point that he climbed up under the truck and pushed the pillow under my head. Well, I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. It was quite comfortable, it supported my head well and got my head out of the dirt. So the story moves on to my oldest son (Colin) who runs www.signcovers.com which manufactures fabric signs banners and bags to cover existing signs as well as my 75-year-old father that owns Custom Canvas Structures, Inc. which manufactures custom fabric awnings and shade sails.

We took it to them and said, “With your expertise in the sewing and fabric arena, we need a pillow unlike any pillow out there. It needs to be durable as all get out, easy to clean, and kind of cool. You know, “something your dad would not feel funny pulling out on the side of the road”. My wife, Michele with one “l” jumped in there to help us design the logo and the website. Lastly, we called my 20-year-old daughter and said how can we get this out to folks to see. She owns “Off the Wall Thrifts” which is an online thrift shop on Instagram and she put together a plan for us. We are all excited to bring you Tuff Pillows.  Truly a family endeavor.
